Learning Opportunities Center
The learning Opportunities Center, an Alternative High School at OIC of Clark County, provides a unique, individualized learning environment for students.  If you are credit deficient, wish to catch up, and earn your high school diploma, please review the information located here on our site to learn more about how the Learning Opportunities Center could help you.

How Does This Program Work?
The Learning Opportunities Center is an alternative High School at OIC of Clark County for youth ages 16-21 who are credit deficient and/or at risk of dropping out of High School.  High School students fall behind for many reasons.  Health issues, family and schedule changes, moving, emotional and social mismatches with other students at their home school, are just a few of the reasons a student may become credit deficient. The Learning Opportunities Center is a year-round school, giving students the opportunity to catch up on their credits so they may graduate from their home school district with their class and peers.  The Learning Opportunities Center is not a charter school. Instead, it partners with the Springfield City Schools and all Clark County school districts to provide services to vulnerable youth.

L.O.C. History
OIC’s Learning Opportunities Center is the product of OIC’s insight into and advocacy for, the vulnerable youth population in our community.
Prior to the Learning Opportunity Center, OIC provided GED preparation training for older youth who were unable to obtain their high school diploma due to their age and/or extensive credit deficiency.  In 2001 OIC of Clark County began operating its high school, the Learning Opportunities Center (L.O.C.).
